Who is responsible
Padeldar is operated by the controller below. Any question about your data goes to this address.

What we collect
Only what the site needs to work. There is no advertising, no profiling, and your data is never sold. Your account exists because we need it to give you the account you asked for, under GDPR Article 6(1)(b). The emails below are sent only if you consent to them, under Article 6(1)(a), and you can withdraw that consent at any time.
- Your approximate country, read from your IP address, to choose a language and centre the map. It is used for that request and not stored.
- An anonymous account, created only when you save a favourite, claim a club or send a request - so the site can tell your saved items apart from someone else's.
- A registered account, created the moment you sign in for the first time - there is no separate registration step. It holds the email address you sign in with, the display name you choose, and the clubs you follow. Your country and preferred language are stored only if you set them, and a profile picture is stored only if you sign in with Google, since that is where it comes from.
- Whatever you type into a claim or request form, including the contact email you give us, so we can reply.
- Aggregate page statistics, with no cookies and no cross-site tracking (see below).
Cookies and local storage
Five things can be stored on your device. Each one is either necessary for something you asked for or a record of your own choice, so none of them needs consent.
| Name | Purpose | Stored when | Kept for |
|---|---|---|---|
| NEXT_LOCALE | Remembers which language to show you. | On your first visit, based on your country - or when you use the language switcher. | Until you close your browser. |
| sb-…-auth-token | Signs you in to your anonymous or registered account, so your favourites and requests are yours. | Only when you save a favourite, claim a club, send a request, or sign in. | Until it expires or you clear it. |
| pd_anon_id | Holds your anonymous account's id while you sign in, so any clubs you had already saved move onto your new account. | When you start signing in, if you already had an anonymous account - for example from saving a favourite. | Up to one hour, deleted as soon as sign-in finishes. |
| padel-theme | Remembers which theme to show you: the one you chose, or the one your system prefers. Stored as a cookie and in local storage, so the page arrives in the right theme instead of switching after it loads. | On your first visit, based on your system setting - or when you use the theme toggle. | One year, or until you change it. |
| padel-consent | Remembers whether you allowed Instagram posts to load, so you are not asked again. | When you answer the cookie banner. | One year, or until you change your answer. |
Your choice
Anything optional runs only if you allow it. Until you do - and if you say no, or close the banner without answering - nothing optional loads at all. You can change your answer whenever you like.
Emails
If you create an account, you can choose to receive:
- Club news - updates from the clubs you follow.
- Events and tournaments - new tournaments and events in your country.
- Newsletter - once a month, the padel that mattered in the Baltics.
Nothing is sent unless you opt in, and each one can be turned off independently on your profile. Turning one off does not delete the record of your choice - we keep it, with the date, so we can show why we stopped writing to you.
Analytics
We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views. It sets no cookies and cannot follow you to other sites: it derives a temporary identifier from your IP address and browser using a value that is discarded and regenerated every day, so visits cannot be linked back to you, or to each other across days.
Instagram embeds
A news article can carry an Instagram post. Nothing about it loads until you allow it in the cookie banner - not the picture, not Instagram's script, nothing that would tell Instagram you were here. Once you allow it, each post sends Instagram your IP address and the address of the page you are reading, and sets its own cookies. You can withdraw that choice at any time from the cookie settings control in the footer; any post you had allowed goes back to being a plain link until you allow it again.
Who else processes your data
These providers handle data on our behalf. Every one of them except Google keeps processing inside the EU; Google's sign-in and image delivery are global.
- Vercel - hosting and cookieless analytics · EU (Frankfurt)
- Supabase - database and accounts · EU (Frankfurt, eu-central-1)
- OpenFreeMap - map tiles, which receive your IP address when a map loads · EU
- Resend - delivers the emails you trigger by contacting us · EU (Ireland)
- Cloudflare Turnstile - captcha that keeps spam off our contact and sign-in forms; receives your IP address · Global (EU edge)
- Google - identity provider when you choose to sign in with Google, and storage for your profile picture - our server fetches that image on your behalf, so Google never receives your IP address for it · Global
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask us to:
- give you a copy of the data we hold about you
- correct anything that is wrong
- delete your data
- restrict how we use it, or object to it
If you have an account, you can close it yourself at any time from your profile - this removes your followed clubs and subscription records with it. Without an account, or if you would rather we did it, write to the address above instead.
Write to the address above and we will answer within one month. You can also complain to your national data protection authority - the Data State Inspectorate in Latvia, the State Data Protection Inspectorate in Lithuania, or the Data Protection Inspectorate in Estonia.
Photographs
Club photographs belong to the club shown, or to the photographer they were made by, and are displayed here so visitors can recognise the venue. We claim no rights over them. If you hold the rights to a photograph on this site and want it removed, write to us and we will take it down - no explanation needed. Where a club has no photograph of its own, we show a stock image marked as illustrative, so nobody mistakes it for the venue.
